Different strengths.
One shared direction.
Give each agent a role that suits their strengths. Bring their work together around your project.
MANAGE YOUR AGENTS LIKE A TEAM
You wouldn’t expect your best developer to be your best salesperson. Give your AI agents the same focus: a clear role and work that suits their strengths.
Learn each teammate’s strengths and weaknesses. Set expectations, give feedback and review their work, just as you would with a human team.
Decide what they’re responsible for and what sits outside their role. A researcher gathers evidence. A writer shapes the message. An editor challenges the draft.
Choose instructions, skills and tools for their responsibilities. Keep relevant knowledge in the project, and set objectives so each agent knows what you want done.
Check progress and give feedback by text or voice. Review important decisions, and bring in another specialist when the work needs a different strength.
YOUR TEAM AT A GLANCE
See each agent’s team objectives and requests for your input. Open their conversation when you need to discuss the next step.
BUILD THE TEAM YOUR PROJECT NEEDS
Start with the work you want done. Give each part to an agent with a focused role, and manage them towards the same goal.
Have a researcher investigate customer needs, a sales specialist develop the offer, and a project planner organise the next steps.
Example roles you could create for this project.
YOUR BRIEF
“Research who needs this, work out how to explain its value, and bring me a launch plan to review.”
YOUR TEAM. YOUR CALL.
Decide what the team is working towards, what each agent can access and which decisions need your input.

Use permission groups to control access to project folders and connected tools. Match access to the job you want that agent to do.
Open an agent’s conversation to give direction, ask a question or review progress. Use text or connect voice when talking is easier.
QUESTIONS ABOUT CREW
Start with the roles your project needs. Give agents focused responsibilities and clear instructions, then review their work to understand their strengths and limitations. Split a role or add another specialist when one agent is being asked to cover too much.
No. Build a team for research, writing, sales planning, analysis, software development or other project work. Each agent’s responsibilities come from the role you give them; what they can do also depends on their instructions, skills and permitted tools.
The current build is for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later. Crew uses your existing ChatGPT/Codex subscription for model access and requires you to sign in. You will need an internet connection for AI services.
Crew is a desktop app, with project state and conversation records held locally. AI requests go to the model provider, and connected tools may send information to their services. Local storage does not mean offline AI.
Yes. Choose permission groups, attached folders and service connections for each role. Saving an agent’s settings does not start it; you choose when to start work.
The current release targets Apple Silicon Macs. This site does not offer a Windows, Linux or Intel Mac build.
